Linked to our topic of the Famine P7 have been learning about emigration to America in 1845. In teams of three, primary seven had to design and build a boat. They had a budget of 250 shillings and had to choose wisely from a list of resources.
Each group worked well together and completed the task. Every design was tested and all the boats floated. The winning group was the boat which could hold the most weight without sinking. Emma, Ethan and Safran triumphed as their boat held a record 440 grams.
Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills were developed.
