Terrific Tayto
As a conclusion to our WAU topic on Food, P6 and P6/7 visited Tayto Factory in Tandragee. Both classes were treated to excellent tours. One of the highlights was getting to meet the one and only, Mr Pat Tayto. After photographs and a safety talk both groups headed onto the factory floor. The tour covered all stages of production, from the storage and delivery of the potatoes to the packaging and boxing of the finished products.
The pupils and staff ate their way around the factory and in the process learnt about the history of Tayto crisps, crisp production today and that they are sold in 43 countries across the world. It was a brilliant trip and the perfect end to a very interesting WAU topic.
Everyone returned to school with a variety of crisps to take home and enjoy!
