Thrive Academy Adult session
On 30th September we were delighted to welcome Dr Deborah Webster from Thrive Academy into school as part of a whole school approach to help improve digital wellbeing. Dr Webster led a workshop for parents/ grandparents on how to support children and take care of their digital wellbeing.
The topics discussed included:
- Social Media
- Risks of going online
- Benefits of going online
- Impact on sleep
- Pressure to be popular
- Feeling like there's no escape
Those who attended thought about:
- implementing a phone pledge with their young person
- charging locations
- where devices stay overnight

Dr Webster also led workshops with the P6 and P6 pupils before leading a staff training in the afternoon for all teachers. The sessions were all very worthwhile and helped to raise awareness of how all members of the school community can play their part in support children's digital wellbeing.
